First Letter of John & Dinner with Bishop Estevez
November 30th, 2017
Mass 6:30 Dinner at 7:00
The first letter of St John is a narrative masterpiece which contains the development of becoming perfect as the
Eternal Father is perfect. This Apostolic writing is the fruit of the life of St John the Apostle, the beloved disciple and of those in his community. This letter can be seen as a miniature of the fourth gospel.
The essential teaching is that the Son of God truly became one of us. And his life is seen in a Trinitarian paradigm. The disciples are seen as sharing of this life. Faith and love sustain this new life.
Bishop Estevez sees this exploration as a gift in preparation for Christmas. Call 904-287-2525 to register.

Saint Paul writes: “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.” (Romans 15: 4). Knowing and understating the secrets that tie the Old Testament to the New Testament makes the study of the Scripture a never-ending delight. The Old Testament is designed to be a picture book, illustrating with fascinating stories the spiritual truths presented in the New Testament. Therefore with the help of GOD we will try to discover the connections therein and gain instructions for our spiritual growth.
